Ruth Miskin Literacy Training - 9.30am – 3.30pm

All children learn to read, write and comprehend. This programme uses synthetic phonics as advocated by the Rose Review, but is so much more than just learning to read.
Two-day courses - including Teaching Handbook and materials.
Cost: £200 plus VAT.
Please note this course does not include lunch but we are very close to town centre shops and cafes.

Dyslexia in the Workplace
Between 4% and 10% of people are estimated to have some degree of dyslexia. Employers need to be aware of their responsibilities under the Disability Amendment Act. This one day course aims to explore the issues surrounding dyslexia in the workplace, including assessment and making appropriate adjustments, which are helpful for all employees, not just those with dyslexia.

This course will enable participants to gain an understanding of Dyslexia, identify children with dyslexic features and be aware of strategies for support, both individually and in the classroom.

EASIE - Exercise and Sound in Education
This is a programme of movement exercises to develop co-ordination and sensory integration which has been demonstrated to improve listening, concentration and memory and subsequently literacy and school performance. The activities require only a few minutes each day and can be used with groups or classes. Suitable for all children in Early Years and KS1, and children in KS2 with SEN.

Jump Ahead is a comprehensive package for small-group intervention for children with co-ordination problems. Devised by specialist teachers and occupational therapists the detailed photocopyable manual contains assessments for use before and after each of the three levels of the programme, enabling progress to be monitored. Equipment required for the activities is readily available in school. Cost: Manual £25. Please contact us for training costs. Jump Ahead training is available either in school or at The 3D Centre.
